ArtsKC Gets New Leadership

A new year has brought new changes at ArtsKC, the nonprofit regional arts council that serves a five-county area in Missouri and Kansas. Brad Douglas, chairman of the ArtsKC board of directors announced the resignation of president and CEO Bruce W.  Davis effective Jan. 2.

“I’ve truly enjoyed my time here in Kansas City. I want to thank the board for giving me the opportunity to serve and to congratulate the staff on the incredible work they do every day to support this wonderful arts community,” said Davis in a release. “I would also like to thank the many funders of ArtsKC, for their continued generosity and support.”

The board appointed Dana Knapp, ArtsKC director of programs, as interim president and CEO of the organization and has enlisted the assistance of a national arts industry search firm to search for a new CEO.

Knapp brings years of leadership at regional nonprofit arts and education organizations to the interim role. Prior to ArtsKC, she was director of programs for the Mid-America Arts Alliance for nearly four years. Previously, she served as director of planning for the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and led the Bloch Building construction and museum renovation.
