Opening new doors: Gina Stuelke balances change, upholding company history

Gina Stuelke never intended to run, join or be anything other than a cheerleader for her family’s more-than-100-year-old business, Kenton Brothers Inc.

It’s not that she was opposed to the business, which began as a lock-and-key business in the late 1800s — it just wasn’t a part of her overall life plan.

Menees Family Dentistry: Third-generation owner brings fresh perspective to family-owned company

When patients call Menees Family Dentistry, they must be specific about which Dr. Menees they want to see. That’s been the case since 1968 when Robert Menees Jr. joined his father, Robert Menees Sr. in the practice Menees Sr. had founded in 1946.

Today, Menees Jr. practices with his daughter, Dr. Laura Menees Moore.

For Moore, keeping the family business going into the third generation is a labor of love — love for her father, her patients and for dentistry. Although dentistry wasn’t her first love professionally. (more…)

Senior services boom: Wide range of businesses cater to aging population

The numbers are staggering—but so, too, are the opportunities.

Baby boomers—Americans aged 55 to 75—number anywhere from 75 million to 83 million in the U.S. Generation X, which is the next younger group at ages 38 to 53, includes 61 million to 65 million people. In the next few years, most of them will be seniors or caring for seniors.
