Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street Honors Several Businesses

Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street, a nonprofit organization dedicated to revitalizing and preserving downtown Lee’s Summit, honored a number of business owners and community members at its annual meeting and awards dinner on June 27 for their commitment to the revitalization and preservation of Lee’s Summit downtown district.

Among those honored were:

  • Very Violet Boutique, Outstanding Window Display
  • Smoke Brewing Company, Top Façade Rehabilitation
  • Haunted and Historic Spaces Tour, Top Special Event
  • Grains and Taps, Business of the Year
  • Melissa McGhee, Volunteer of the Year
  • Dr. David Zak, Dale Hartley Service Award
  • Eric Vospette and Jim Clayton, Downtown Champions
  • Chad Godfrey, New Member Dynamo
  • Jen Steller, Award of Appreciation
  • Donnie Rodgers, Jr., President’s Award

In addition, three new members were elected to three-year terms on the Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street board of directors: Dave Eames, owner of Fossil Forge Designs; Chad Godfrey, owner of Summit Video Services; and Courtney Stoddard, sales and design consultant at Budget Blinds Kansas City/Lee’s Summit.

At the meeting, Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street announced its role in helping to bring the Missouri Main Street Center’s 2018 conference, Main Street Now, to Kansas City. Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street will host the closing celebration of the conference on March 28, 2018. The National Main Street Center works with a network of Main Street America programs to promote downtown and commercial district revitalization across the country.
