ECCO Select Names Darren Prenger as COO

ECCO Select, an IT talent acquisition and advisory consulting company, has named Darren Prenger chief operating officer.

Prenger is the son of ECCO Select founder and CEO Jeanette Hernandez Prenger, who founded the firm in 1995. Darren began working at the company as a recruiter. He also worked in roles as recruiting manager, senior recruiter, director of business development and vice president of commercial sector and strategic development, before landing at his previous role of chief revenue officer.

“I’m so proud of Darren,” said Jeanette Prenger. “He watched the business evolve, has worked his way from the ground up, and the time is right as we celebrate 21 years in business for him to lead the next generation.”

Prenger’s previous accomplishments include rebuilding business development efforts and the recruitment and federal teams at ECCO. That effort positioned the company for exponential growth.

ECCO Select was recognized by Thinking Bigger Business Media as a 25 Under 25 winner in 2003.

Since its $1.04 million headquarters expansion in 2014, ECCO Select has nearly doubled its number of full-time employees. Annual revenue continues to grow by leaps, including 111-percent revenue growth in 2016.

Prenger’s prior role as chief revenue officer was instrumental in this growth. He led initiatives that achieved a 400-percent increase in revenue. As COO, he hopes to provide growth-driven stewardship similar to the impressive growth the company has experienced since its launch.

“I am extremely humbled by the opportunity,” Prenger said. “I can’t thank my mother enough for the mentoring, discipline, and leadership. More important, her direction has positioned our company to achieve the aggressive growth objectives we’ve set out over the next few years. We have a phenomenal team in place, and I take tremendous responsibility and great pride in helping lead our collective efforts as we pursue ECCO Select’s next evolution.”
