‘Entrepreneur Storytime’ to Feature Matt Shatto of Shatto Milk

Matt Shatto of Shatto Milk Company will be the guest speaker at this month’s Entrepreneur Storytime hosted by the Mid-Continent Public Library.

Shatto is scheduled to speak at 7 p.m. Friday at the Woodneath Library Center, 8900 N.E. Flintlock Road in Kansas City, Missouri. Shatto will tell how his family transformed their farm into one of the Kansas City region’s best-loved food brands. He’ll also discuss Shatto’s new milkman-style delivery service and share samples of the dairy’s eggnog.

Entrepreneur Storytime, which shares the real-life, firsthand stories of KC entrepreneurs, is a presentation of Mid-Continent’s Square One Small Business Services. The program hosts workshops and other programming for small business owners. The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation helps fund the initiative.

There is no charge to attend, but registration is required at this website.

And be sure to mark your calendar for “The Business of Micro-Distilleries” at 7 p.m. on Nov. 18 at Woodneath Library Center.

Local author Pete Dulin, who wrote “KC Ale Trail” and the forthcoming “Kansas City Beer,” will lead a panel discussion including entrepreneurs from J. Rieger & Co., S.D. Strong Distilling, Union Horse Distilling Co., Tom’s Town Distilling, Lifted Spirits Distillery and Restless Spirits Distilling Co. You can register for that event at this website.

“At Square One, our top priority is to connect aspiring entrepreneurs to the resources and knowledge they need to be successful,” said Devon Costantine, Square One business specialist. “We’re here to ensure that the local small business community grows by providing programs like this, which showcase successful Kansas City entrepreneurs and give small business owners inspiration and ideas to use in their own businesses.”
