Kansas City Ranks Fourth Among ‘Hot’ Startup Cities

Kansas City business leaders have been saying loud and long that Kansas City is a great place to start a business. Entrepreneur magazine just agreed.

The magazine recently selected Kansas City as fourth among nine “hot, startup cities” other than New York or San Francisco. Kansas City is one of only two Midwestern cities in the top nine listing.

The magazine article noted that although San Francisco, New York and Portland are often cited as cities with “thriving tech, media, fashion or food scenes,” the nine cities on the list can match them with their established infrastructure, skilled labor forces and lower costs of living.

The eight cities listed in addition to Kansas City are Salt Lake City, Baltimore, Nashville, Sacramento, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Houston, Boston and Los Angeles.
