KC Startup InReturn Strategies Selected for 2 National Competitions

Local startup InReturn Strategies has not one, but pieces of good news.

It was one of 10 startups selected to compete next month in Kapor Capital’s People Ops Tech Competition. The Oakland-based contest is for startups whose solutions help promote diversity and inclusion in the workplace—a good fit for InReturn, whose platform makes it easy for employers to hire people with disabilities. At stake is $100,000 in prizes.

And InReturn Strategies was one of 12 companies invited to take part in Village Capital’s Future of Work Forum Nov. 29 in Washington, D.C. The summit will look at solutions that help low-wealth, underserved workers, either through job-matching, training and accreditation, portable benefits and other services. Participants could win up to $10,000 in prizes.

InReturn’s early clients include Commerce Bank, C2FO and the Kansas City Public Library, among others. Founder Jim Atwater spoke with Thinking Bigger Business about his company last fall. You can find that article here.
