SBA Plans Veteran Business Event on June 21

If you’re a military veteran and a Kansas City entrepreneur, the U.S. Small Business Administration is hosting a free “Boots to Business Reboot” event on June 21 that might be perfect for you.

“Introduction to Entrepreneurship” is a daylong workshop that will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the SBA’s Kansas City District Office, 1000 Walnut St., Ste. 500, in Kansas City, Mo.

Veterans of any age and active servicemembers, including those in the National Guard and Reserves, are welcome to attend. So are their spouses. Aspiring and established business owners are encouraged to participate.

At the June 21 event, the SBA and its partners will cover some of the basics of being a business owner. Participants will learn how to spot opportunities, connect with programs designed to help them and get an overview of creating a business plan.

Attendees can also sign up for an eight-week online course, “Foundations of Entrepreneurship,” through the Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University.
