SBA’s KC Office Welcomes New Director

A new director is overseeing the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Kansas City district office.

Jon “Malcolm” Richards will be responsible for SBA programs in 89 Missouri and Kansas counties. Before coming to Kansas City, he served as the acting deputy district director of the SBA’s New York City district office. He also has a banking background, having worked for three of the country’s largest commercial banks, and he’s a former small business owner.

“Malcolm Richards brings to our area extensive management and lending experience, a solid background in marketing SBA, and an ability to build collaborative partnerships to increase public knowledge about SBA programs, services and initiatives,” said Patricia Brown-Dixon, SBA’s Region VII administrator for the states of Iowa, Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska.
