T.Loft founder offers online academy for emerging entrepreneurs

Jill Minton, founder of t.Loft health cafes in Kansas City, is sharing her entrepreneurial acumen through her new business academy, Launch Your Leap.

This 15-course online educational program will take participants through the fundamentals needed to proceed with a business idea — inspiring the leap.

Minton, who has a background in accounting and starting her own chain of cafes, used much of her own experience in developing the coursework.

“I feel like wanting to do something again that’s helping people …  that person who’s sitting there going, ‘Gosh, is this is going to be my life forever?’” said Minton of the inspiration for Launch Your Leap. “It’s getting this calling and getting a feeling of this restlessness, and I’m ready to do something with it. So sharing all my experiences going through that same thing and how I set my life up so I could do it.”

Course fundamentals include learning financials, evaluating personal expenses, analyzing the business climate, generating revenue and marketing. With Minton’s motivational tone, the courses will also provide a sense of comfort for those uncertain about taking a risk.

Minton describes this as “that support of it’s OK people go through this, and people succeed and that it is normal to be scared. It’s normal to be restless and that is all part of the journey … just giving them the confidence to make the decision to do it,” she said.

T.Loft opened its first location in 2013 and has since opened four more locations in the metro area. Minton expanded on her experience in opening the health conscious cafes with her own brand, Jill Minton.
Self-described as an entrepreneur, health enthusiast and speaker, Minton offers business insight and interviews with other leaders through her podcast, “Learning to Leap with Jill Minton,” and is a keynote speaker who shares more about her personal leaps and the lessons learned along the way.

Minton hopes to attract 20 participants to the inaugural Launch Your Leap academy.

“I expect that the academy will continue to get bigger, and I’d like to just share the message more through the podcast and speaking and all the other outlets just to help people who are getting that calling to make the decision to do it,” said Minton.

The deadline to enroll in Launch Your Leap is May 11 at Minton’s website. The cost for the course is $250 per person, and the material is accomplished at each participants’ own pace.
