Angela Primavera Becomes Creative Displays’ First Woman Owner

Creative Displays Inc., a Stilwell company that sells commercial-grade holiday lighting, is now under new ownership.

Angela Primavera, a former Lee Jeans executive, took over as owner and president on Sept. 1.

“I am excited to take ownership as the first female owner of this dynamic company that has been in business since 1959!” Primavera said. “I am a first-time entrepreneur leaving the corporate world after 20 great years.”

Previously, Primavera was vice president and general manager for VF Corporation / Lee Jeans Female Division, where she oversaw a $230 million business. She has more than 18 years of experience in brand management, strategic marketing and business analytics.

Creative Displays has been in business since 1959, when it was founded by George Purucker. The company made its own light strings and decorated buildings around the Kansas City metro.

Paul Sessel bought Creative Displays in 1994 and ran it for 23 years, expanding its lineup of products to include LED and incandescent lights and outdoor displays. It changed Creative Displays from a seasonal business to a year-round one.
