Apply for SCORE’s $25K Small Business Contest by Feb. 12

The deadline is almost here for SCORE’s 2016 American Small Business Championship, which will award $25,000 to this year’s grand champion.

The contest is open to the owners of for-profit businesses that employ fewer than 50 people. Entrants must 18 or older and legal U.S. residents.

The deadline is 4 p.m. Feb. 12. You can apply for the contest and find other information via this website.

To enter, you just need to answer the following question: “What dream would you be able to achieve if you were to win this championship?” Answers can be in the form of a 30- to 60-second video or a short essay that’s no longer than 1,500 characters. A photo must be submitted with the essay.

While there’s only one national winner, the prizes for the runners-up are still pretty nifty. Two winners will be picked from each state and the District of Columbia, and they’ll all receive a $1,000 gift card to Sam’s Club. They’ll also be invited to a SCORE regional training event in Chicago, Phoenix or Washington, D.C.

The state winners will be named on March 11. The grand champion will be chosen in July and publicly announced at a Sept. 15 gala.
