‘Boots to Business Reboot’ Offers Help to Veterans, Servicemembers and Spouses

The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering free training to help military veterans, active-duty servicemembers and their spouses get started as business owners.

It’s called Boots to Business Reboot, and it’s a two-step program that will give participants a closer look at building a business plan, spotting opportunities, connecting with public- and private-sector resources, and other essentials.

Step One, “Introduction to Entrepreneurship,” is a seminar that will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 1 at the SBA’s Kansas City District Office, 1000 Walnut St. in Kansas city, Missouri. You can register at this website.

(The workshop also will be offered on Nov. 2 at the SBA’s office in Springfield.)

The second part of Boots to Business Reboot is an online course, “Foundations of Entrepreneurship,” offered by the Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University. The course will run for eight weeks. Participants must complete “Introduction to Entrepreneurship” before taking part in “Foundations of Entrepreneurship.”

Boots to Business Reboot is for veterans of all eras, and it includes members of the National Guard and Reserves.
