Bread & Butter Concepts Buys 3 Ingredient Locations

Bread & Butter Concepts in Kansas City has bought three Ingredient locations in downtown Kansas City, Leawood and Columbia, Mo., and will rebrand them as Ingredient True Eatery restaurants.

Ingredient restaurants in Kansas City on the Country Club Plaza, as well as in Lawrence and Omaha, Neb., will remain under existing ownership.

The two local Ingredient restaurants acquired by Bread & Butter Concepts are located at 1111 Main St. in Kansas City and at 11563 Ash St. at Park Place in Leawood.

Bread & Butter Concepts already owns and operates the local restaurants Gram & Dun, BRGR Kitchen + Bar at two locations, Urban Table, Taco Republic and the Taco Republic Truck. The company also is expected this fall to open its Italian concept eatery G. Berto Cucina.

Bread & Butter Concepts has established a reputation for casual dining by serving freshly made café and comfort food items in a relaxed atmosphere. While Bread & Butter Concepts shares some similar concepts with Ingredient, its acquisition of three Ingredient restaurants also allows the company to offer fast-casual dining opportunities customers.

“Moving into the fast-casual sector of the restaurant business is a key factor as well,” Bread & Butter founder and CEO Alan Gaylin said in a release. “It is currently the fastest-growing segment of our industry, and we like adding that to our portfolio.”

The rebranded Ingredient True Eatery restaurants owned by Bread & Butter Concepts will experience a gradual modification in their food, service and atmosphere, a process that is currently underway at the Leawood location.
