Brightergy Plans Move to Larger HQ in October

Solar energy company Brightergy plans to move in October from its top-floor offices at 1617 Main St. to the top two floors of the redeveloped Globe Building at 1720 Main St., where it will occupy 11,000 square feet.

The move will be just across the street in the Crossroads Arts District and is growth-fueled for Brightergy, which was featured on the September 2012 cover of Thinking Bigger Business magazine. The company has 68 employees—up from 51 at the end of 2013—and is continuing to hire for open positions.

“Brightergy has experienced significant and rapid growth over the past couple of years,” said CEO Adam Blake. “We’ve enjoyed our home in the Crossroads, and we’re looking forward to a new space that allows us to be all together, allows for more continued growth and keeps us in the same neighborhood. It’s a supportive and innovative community.”

Until its move, Brightergy will continue to do business at 1617 Main. It also currently has a business development and sales office in a next-door building and another office space built out in the company’s North Kansas City warehouse, where much of its operations department is working.

Brightergy’s larger space in the Globe Building will provide the opportunity to test and showcase some of its energy projects and services. Lighting will be 100-percent LED, energy intelligence software will be used, and there will be solar panels on the roof. The company will also install a new display to attract attention to its efficient lighting products.
