Digital Sandbox Brings ‘Summer in the Sand’ Series

Digital Sandbox KC has announced the schedule of events for the fourth edition of Summer in the Sand, a series of monthly workshops for up-and-coming companies.

These sessions give Kansas City area entrepreneurs, startups and small businesses the opportunity to learn about the latest topics and trends in entrepreneurship. Digital Sandbox KC started Summer in the Sand as part of the organization’s quest to help area startups and entrepreneurs succeed.

There will be four events this summer, and all will be held alongside with “CoWorking Wednesdays” at the Sprint Accelerator. This is the second year in a row Digital Sandbox KC has partnered with the Sprint Accelerator.

“Last year, the Summer in the Sand series attracted more than 200 people to our space to encourage learning, valuable connections and collaboration among this KC startup ecosystem, which is one of our main goals,” said Ari Kern, community and programs manager for the Sprint Accelerator.

Organizers picked the content for these sessions based on the needs of area startups and trends in the market. All sessions will run from 2:30 to 4 p.m. This summer’s events include:

  • June 8: How to Pitch to the Sandbox
  • July 6: Makerspaces: “Like a Gym for People Who Build Stuff”
  • Aug. 3: Equity and Crowdfunding: How the New Rules Affect You
  • Sep. 7: Regional Funding for Early-Stage Companies
