Freelance Exchange of KC presents Portfolio Showcase

Area freelancers will host an expo of services, and local businesses are invited.

The Freelance Exchange of Kansas City’s annual Portfolio Showcase will take place 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center, 8788 Metcalf in Overland Park. There is no charge to attend the event. Parking is free, and a light lunch will be provided.

The FX Portfolio Showcase will feature Kansas City-area independent professionals including designers, writers, photographers, social media specialists, public relations pros, videographers, web developers and more. Members will be on-site to showcase their work and meet with potential clients.

There will be a panel discussion from 10:30-11:30 a.m. entitled “Hiring Freelancers? What to Expect.” The discussion will touch on how to choose a freelance professional and best practices.

The Freelance Exchange is Kansas City’s outsource resource. Solopreneurs from the advertising and marketing industry come together as a community to share best practices, become savvier business owners and expand their networks. Now celebrating 15 years, FX serves as a free resource for local ad agencies and businesses to find quality talent.
