NSBA Seeks Nominees for Small Business Advocate Award

If you look around at the leaders in your community, you’ll probably find more than a few small business owners in charge.

The National Small Business Association wants to recognize these small business owners who’ve not only built great companies, but who have stepped up and become advocates for entrepreneurs as a whole, by advocating for pro-business policies.

That’s why the NSBA is taking nominations now through April 10 for this year’s Lewis A. Shattuck Small Business Advocate of the Year Award.

It’ll be presented to an owner who has campaigned for policies that have improved the climate for small businesses as a whole, not just their particular company or industry.

The winners must also have built a growing business and have a track record of doing volunteer work that builds up the small business community.

Nominees must employ fewer than 500 people. Self-nominations are welcome.

“Now in its 10th year, I’m proud of the many outstanding finalists and winners we’ve recognized with the Lew Shattuck Award,” said NSBA President and CEO Todd McCracken. “This is the perfect way for politically engaged small-business owners to get a little recognition for their years of hard work on behalf of America’s small businesses.”

The winner and four finalists will be saluted at a June 1-2 event in Washington, D.C.
