Union Horse Distilling Co. Prepares to Roll Out 2 New Whiskeys

Lenexa’s Union Horse Distilling Company—formerly known as Dark Horse Distillery—is rolling out its two newest products, Reunion Straight Rye Whiskey and Reserve Straight Bourbon Whiskey.

They’re made from some of the company’s earliest barrels and have been aged up to five years. The rye has tastes of butterscotch, caramel, ginger and cinnamon spice, while the bourbon’s taste includes creamy vanilla, maple and smoke. They should start showing up in local bars, restaurants and shops over the next several weeks.

“We’re proud of our robust offering of small batch, craft spirits,” said Eric Garcia, Union Horse’s general manager. “Our products are locally sourced and personally monitored from grain to glass. Reunion Straight Rye Whiskey and Reserve Straight Bourbon Whiskey give our family-owned business more opportunities to offer our distinct perspective on spirits.”

Union Horse distributes its products in seven states: Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Connecticut, New York and New Jersey. And it operates a popular events space. The company was featured on the cover of Thinking Bigger Business magazine in November 2014. You can read that profile here.
