Unravel increases digital marketing services through merger

Unravel, a Kansas City digital marketing agency, joined forces with Grape Marketing this summer. The 10-year old Unravel expanded SEO and data services through the merger.

Both agencies saw value in the other. Scott Schaper of Unravel credits a client referral with introducing him to Danny Humphrey of Grape Marketing, to bring about the opportunity.

“We were wanting to expand our search engine optimization offerings … and (Humphrey) was looking to expand his web offerings,” said Schaper. “So we just found some common bonds and started working together, and then decided to merge in the summer.”

Digital marketing services include content creation for digital and print, website management, SEO, graphic design, Google Adwords, pay-per-click advertising, social media campaigns and more. Schaper emphasizes the agency’s data-driven approach to all marketing needs.

“Every marketing action we take is always borne by the data. We have removed the luck and we removed the hunch out of digital marketing, and we look at the data to inform all of our decisions, and business owners really like that approach,” said Schaper.

Humphrey adds that Unravel’s SEO services allow companies to start off with a team of experts who can deliver results versus trying to understand why they might need SEO and then finding a candidate to meet those needs.

Unravel works with clients such as local contractors in the building and renovation industries, as well as health care and legal clients.

The merger joined teams for a total of seven full-time employees, which includes Schaper and Humphrey. In addition, Unravel works with an average of six to eight contract writers to manage content demands.

“We write almost all the content of our clients’ websites. We don’t leave any of that to chance. So every single blog and their ongoing content strategy is with us,” said Schaper.

The agency is headquartered in Lenexa’s Plexpod co-working space.
