Will Shields — the Chiefs legend who now runs 68’s Inside Sports — has two charitable fundraisers planned for September.

Shields will host his annual Women’s Football 101 Clinic from 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 12 at the 68’s Inside Sports fields facility, 9111 Flint in Overland Park. The evening event will cover the basics of the game. Admission costs $15, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Shields’ Will to Succeed Foundation. You can register here.
A few days later, Shields’ Will To Do It Charity Golf Tournament will take place, rain or shine, on Sept. 16 at the Canyon Farms Golf Club, 18145 W. 87th St. Parkway in Lenexa. The day will include a catered lunch and prizes—including a chance to win a car and a boat. The entry fee is $100 per person, and registration will be available at this website.
The tourney will raise money for Operation Breakthrough, which provides social services and early childhood education in the urban core, and the Will to Succeed Foundation. The foundation supports organizations that help abused or neglected women and children, and it helps fund scholarships and other community initiatives.
