STUFF’s Simmons to Lead Nelson-Atkins Board
S. Sloane Simmons, co-owner of STUFF, has been named the chairwoman of the Friends of Art Council at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. The council is the official governing body for the museum’s membership. Simmons has been on the council for three years and a Nelson-Atkins member for nearly 30 years. 

REACTOR Wins Top AMBIT Award
REACTOR Design Studio won Best of Show at this year’s Kansas City Direct Marketing Association AMBIT Awards. REACTOR was recognized for its work on a direct mail piece that it did for Commerce Bank as part of the bank’s “Coffee on Us” campaign. 

Hilary’s Eat Well Wins ‘Clean Eating’ Honor
The adzuki bean burger from Hilary’s Eat Well was named the best bean burger by Clean Eating magazine in its annual Clean Choice Awards. 

New President at Morningstar
Sheri Johnson is now the president of Morningstar Communications. Johnson was the company’s senior vice president. She joined Morningstar in 2000. Founder Eric Morgenstern will continue as CEO.

RESULTS Technology has earned a spot on Penton Technology’s MSPmentor 501 Global Edition, a list of the world’s leading managed service providers. The company was ranked No. 177 internationally, No. 1 in St. Louis and No. 2 in Kansas City.

Phoenix Acquires Brown Restoration and Remodeling
Phoenix Renovation and Restoration Inc. has acquired Brown Restoration and Remodeling of Raymore, which will be renamed Brown Remodeling and Restoration. Brown will continue to focus on residential remodeling, while Phoenix will emphasize insurance restoration jobs at properties damaged by flood, fire or storm.

Travois Tapped for National Program
Travois has been selected for the new Small Business Finance Collaborative, a two-year program that will help 24 mission-driven small business lenders to expand their capacity. The project is sponsored by the Opportunity Finance Network and Goldman Sachs’ 10,000 Small Businesses initiative.

Heartland Seating has moved to its own building at 11222 Johnson Drive in downtown Shawnee. 

EAG Wins Big at Fountain Awards
EAG Advertising & Marketing took home eight Fountain Awards and two Merit Awards from this year’s Business Marketing Association awards gala. EAG was recognized for work it did for Commenco, Invision, Platinum Realty and others. 

JCCC Salutes Morgenstern with Headline Award
Eric Morgenstern, the CEO of Morningstar Communications, recently won Johnson County Community College’s Headline Award. The annual honor is presented by the school’s media-journalism program to an inspiring professional in that field.

DRAW Hires New Project Architect
Joshua Hemberger is the new project architect at DRAW Architecture + Urban Design. He was previously an associate at BNIM Architects.
