Rx Savings Solutions is rolling out a set of new features that should help its users keep up with their meds and save money.
The Overland Park company has created a platform that helps customers identify lower-cost alternatives for their prescriptions. More than 2 million people have access to Rx Savings Solutions.
And now they’ll have access to Medicine Cabinet, a new Rx Savings Solutions feature that helps users organize information about all their medications (and their kids’) in a single location. Medicine Cabinet will output a full list of a user’s meds, which can then be shared with a doctor or pharmacist.
Medication Reminders, another feature, sends email or text reminders to users so they take their meds at the right time.
“Medication adherence is critically important to effectively managing chronic and temporary conditions, as well our overall health and well-being,” said Michael Rea, PharmD, founder and CEO of Rx Savings Solutions. “We’re giving our members an easy way to stay on track with everything in their medicine cabinet, for every member of the family.”
As part of its upgrade, Rx Savings Solutions is also adding a feature that will email a user’s adult dependents – those over age 18 – to alert them to ways they could be saving on medicine. Because of HIPAA rules, the main user can’t view those alerts and share them with the dependents. The new feature works around that limitation while respecting the rules.
