Brown Button Estate Sales Services has moved into a new West Bottoms showroom space, which it’ll use for West Coast-style estate sales. The first is set for Feb. 24-27.
These “showroom sales” were pioneered by companies like Hughes Estate Sales in Los Angeles. They differ from traditional estate sales, which are usually hosted in-home. Instead, these are comprised of a collection of several estates who are unable to host an in-home sale, and the sale is then held in a showroom.
Additionally, the sale is carefully curated. That way, shoppers don’t have to dig through less-wanted items like holiday decor, VHS tapes and old T-shirts.
A showroom sale also differs from antique stores since the goal is to sell every piece in just a few days. Prices will be marked down each day, with all items 50 percent off on the final date.
The company says showroom sales are a great option for people with interesting, valuable items they would like to sell, but who don’t have the volume for a whole-house estate sale.
Brown Button’s first showroom sale will feature a large collection of antique furniture, primitives and farm antiques, vintage taxidermy, a pinball machine, mid-century design and a substantial amount of vintage and antique letterpress equipment.
