Bunker Labs KC Receives Grants, Funding to Help Local Veterans

Bunker Labs KC has won two big supporters to help fund its Midwest Muster Veteran Entrepreneurship Conference this fall in Kansas City.

The Missouri Technology Corporation has awarded a $100,000 grant, and Bunker Labs KC will share in a $1.5 million sponsorship from JP Morgan Chase. (The $1.5 million will help several cities host similar events.)

The nonprofit, built by military veterans to empower other military veterans in entrepreneurship, offers educational opportunities, free consulting services, and direct access to investors for local veterans and transitioning military.

The Missouri Technology Corporation Missouri Building Entrepreneurial Capacity (MOBEC) program provides funding to nonprofits that support niche communities throughout the state. Bunker Labs KC plans to use the grant money to bring entrepreneur educational resources to active duty military members who are transitioning within the next six to 12 months.

Additionally, the organization will be using sponsorship money from JP Morgan Chase to support their Midwest Muster conference that will be hosted by all nine chapters nationwide this fall. Locally it will be held at the Kansas City Convention Center September 21, 2016. The Midwest Muster will feature a series of guest speakers, mentor matchmaking and many other opportunities for active-duty military and veterans looking to make the jump into the business world.
