Every year, the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City presents the annual Cornerstone Awards to recognize companies and projects that have helped strengthen the economy of Kansas City, Mo.

Lifetime Achievement Award: Barnett and Shirley Helzberg
In addition, there will be a public vote for one People’s Choice Award from among the winning projects, except the Lifetime Achievement award. Voting is open on the EDC’s Facebook page and will close at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, May 8. The “People’s Choice” winner will be announced at the Cornerstone Award luncheon on Tuesday, May 9.
All of the award winners, including the People’s Choice winner, will be recognized at the EDCKC Cornerstone Awards Reception on May 9, from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at Union Station in Kansas City, Mo. Terry Bassham, CEO of Great Plains Energy, is the keynote speaker.
