EDC of KC Announces Cornerstone Award Winners

The Economic Development of Corporation of Kansas City, Mo., has unveiled the winners of this year’s Cornerstone Awards, which will be presented May 11 at Union Station.


The Cornerstone Awards salute economic development projects including new construction, capital investment, job creation and retention efforts and more.

“The Cornerstone Awards celebrate the people and organizations that contribute to a prosperous Kansas City, Mo., economy,” said Bob Langenkamp, EDCKC president and CEO. “Those recognized this year have had a positive impact on advancing Kansas City, Missouri, and we enthusiastically congratulate them on their efforts.”

This year’s winning projects include:

  1. Centerpoint Intermodal Center – Kansas City
  2. Kansas City Manufacturing
  3. Custom Truck and Equipment
  4. Lead Bank
  5. Leon Mercer Jordan Campus, East Patrol Station & Regional Crime Lab
  6. Linwood Area Ministry Place (LAMP)
  7. Mac Properties for its Armour Corridor residential development
  8. Martin City CID and City of Kansas City, Missouri, 135th Street Redevelopment
  9. One Light
  10. KC Streetcar

Now through 11:59 p.m. May 10, members of the public can vote for which of the top 10 winners should receive the first-ever People’s Choice Award. That honor—along with the Lifetime Achievement, Innovation and Made In KC awards—will be announced during the awards program. For information about tickets, visit this website.
