ShotTracker—the new device from KC entrepreneurs Bruce Ianni and Davyeon Ross—won’t be shipped to buyers until this summer, but attendees at the men’s and women’s Final Four games will be able to try it out.
Basketball players can track their shooting percentage by wearing a ShotTracker wristband. The wristband, paired with a sensor installed on a basketball hoop, records how many shots a player takes and how many they sink. That data is then fed to a smartphone app available on iPhone and Android platforms.
Ross and Ianni are both graduates of the Pipeline program. Ross previously founded Digital Sports Ventures, which made video of Division I sports available online, and has more than 13 years of experience in the technology sector. Ianni created Innovadex, a search engine for the food, beverage, chemical and life science industries—“Google for chemists.”
