Area freelancers will host an expo of services, and local businesses are invited.
The Freelance Exchange of Kansas City’s annual Portfolio Showcase will take place 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center, 8788 Metcalf in Overland Park. There is no charge to attend the event. Parking is free, and a light lunch will be provided.
The FX Portfolio Showcase will feature Kansas City-area independent professionals including designers, writers, photographers, social media specialists, public relations pros, videographers, web developers and more. Members will be on-site to showcase their work and meet with potential clients.
There will be a panel discussion from 10:30-11:30 a.m. entitled “Hiring Freelancers? What to Expect.” The discussion will touch on how to choose a freelance professional and best practices.
The Freelance Exchange is Kansas City’s outsource resource. Solopreneurs from the advertising and marketing industry come together as a community to share best practices, become savvier business owners and expand their networks. Now celebrating 15 years, FX serves as a free resource for local ad agencies and businesses to find quality talent.
