Gail Worth to Tell Her Company’s Story at Mid-Continent Public Library Event

Have you ever wondered how Gail Worth built Gail’s Harley-Davidson into one of the city’s best-known small businesses?

She’ll tell you herself, if you attend the Mid-Continent Public Library’s Entrepreneur Storytimes event at the Woodneath Library Center on the evening of Sept. 11. The free event will start with a reception at 6 p.m., followed by Worth’s talk at 7 p.m.

This will be the second time that Mid-Continent has hosted Entrepreneur Storytimes. The first featured Roasterie founder Danny O’Neill, who spoke candidly about the challenges he faced when launching his company.

“He just gave this amazing talk,” said Morgan Perry, a business specialist at the library.

That’s the goal of the Entrepreneur Storytimes—to share firsthand, real-life stories from some of the city’s most successful entrepreneurs.

When building the slate of Entrepreneur Storytimes speakers, Perry said, organizers looked for guests who would be comfortable talking about the tougher, less-glamorous parts of being your own boss.

“We wanted the story of the business,” Perry said. “We wanted to know how they kept the doors open.”

The next Entrepreneur Storytimes will be on Nov. 20. Local journalist and beer expert Pete Dulin will lead a panel of local brewers.
