Harmon Construction, Inc. has been providing construction management, design- build and general contracting services to a variety of clients for almost 30 years. Founded by Tim Harmon, the company specializes in commercial, industrial, healthcare, senior living and faith-based construction. Harmon Construction’s mission is “to provide innovative design and construction solutions that exceed client expectations.”
Harmon said the company is passionate about working with customers from “concept to completion.” Its professional staff of estimators, construction engineers and support personnel have a high degree of character and competency, which has enabled Harmon Construction to become one of the most respected builders in the region.
Building the Senior Living Community in Kansas City
Harmon Construction is quickly becoming an industry leader in the development and construction of senior living facilities in the Kansas City metro area. Recently completed long-standing facility renovations and new ground up projects demonstrate Harmon Construction’s growth—and the demand for senior living facilities.
The company recently completed renovation and addition projects for Alexian Brothers Health System. These projects consisted of:
> Carondelet Manor, a 147-bed, 77,700-square-foot facility renovation
> St. Mary’s Manor, a 141-bed, 78,700-square-foot facility renovation
> Villa St. Joseph, a 138-bed, 49,600 square foot facility renovation and 16-bed, 13,000-square-foot addition
A minor challenge to these projects was the fact that they needed to be fully operational during construction. Phasing and experience are integral for overcoming this challenge, and Harmon Construction was able to complete all of the projects efficiently and successfully.
Another standout project that Harmon Construction recently completed is the Hospice House at Olathe Medical Center. As the first free-standing hospice house on the Kansas side of the metro, this 11,100-square-foot facility provides end-of-life medical and nursing care alongside emotional and spiritual support in a home-like environment.
Just the Beginning
Harmon is currently pursuing several other senior living opportunities. With thousands of Americans turning 65 every day, Harmon recognizes that the demand for senior living facilities will continue to rise and care environments are a strong area of growth for the company going forward.
