The Kansas City Coworking Alliance is attempting to set a world record – and they need your help!
Specifically, the alliance is trying to set a record for the most number of people coworking in one place (Plexpod Westport Commons, 300 E. 39th St. in Kansas City, Missouri) at a single time (Aug. 9 – aka KC Coworking Day).
The day will kick off with 1 Million Cups at 9 a.m. in Plexpod Westport Commons’ Medallion Theater. You don’t have to attend 1 Million Cups to be part of the world record, but you will want to be on the premises from 10 to 10:45 a.m., when organizers will welcome everyone and explain the rules.
The world-record attempt will run from 10:45 to 11:15 a.m., followed by food-truck lunches, games, music and ice cream in the facility’s courtyard until 1 p.m.
You can register for KC Coworking Day at this website. There’s no charge to participate in the world-record attempt.
The KC Coworking Alliance brings together coworking spaces across the metro – and there are quite a few of those operations now, since the first of them launched around 2009. In fact, you’d be hard-pressed to find a corner of the metro that doesn’t have a collaborative space where freelancers, small businesses, telecommuters and others can come together.
