You Be the Judge at the KC Food Truck Face Off

Calling all foodies and Kansas City locals! The KC Food Truck Face Off competition wants you to help decide who is the best of the best of the city’s up-and-coming food trucks.

The event, hosted by Mid-Continent Public Library’s Square One Small Business Services, will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 3, at The Roasterie, 1204 W. 27th St. in Kansas City, Mo.

Seven food trucks are competing for the title. Attendees will get the chance to sample quarter-sized entrees from each of the food trucks battling it out, and sip spirits and brews from four local breweries and two distilleries.

Judges include The Roasterie founder Danny O’Neill, local food blogger and grill expert Craig Jones (aka Grill Mayor), Gail Worth of Harley-Davidson, and Wanda Burke, a chef with Plantain District food truck. They’ll pick a winner, and so will attendees, who will vote for the People’s Choice Award via an app.

Besides food and drink, there will also be yard games and opportunities to hear from local food critics.

The local food trucks vying for the top title are:

  • American Fusion
  • Boo Yah
  • Flossie Mae
  • Fungal Fusion
  • Greg Co. BBQ
  • KC Pinoy
  • Pita for Good

The sponsoring breweries and distilleries include:

  • Cinder Block Brewery
  • Crane Brewing Company
  • J. Rieger & Co.
  • Martin City Brewing Company
  • Restless Spirits Distilling
  • Rock & Run Brewery

Tickets to participate in the voting and sampling are $25, and VIP tickets, which include VIP parking and early entry, are $45. You can get more information and get tickets here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/kc-food-truck-face-off-rookie-class-2016-tickets-22435420948
