Time is running out for young companies interested in applying for Launch KC’s startup competition, which will award $50,000 grants to up to 10 ventures.
The application deadline is July 2. Interested entrepreneurs can apply through this website.
Winning companies will receive other help, too, including free work space for 12 months, mentoring and introductions to potential investors and advisers. The selected businesses will be announced during this fall’s Techweek conference in Kansas City.
Organizers are particularly interested in companies with scalable business models with a technology focus in animal health, agriculture, big data, cloud services, data analytics, advanced manufacturing, financial tech, health tech, mobile and real estate.
Launch KC is an initiative from the Downtown Council, with assistance from the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City. It’s designed to attract more tech companies to downtown. The contest is open to local and national startups.
The Missouri Technology Corporation has pledged $250,000 for Launch KC, and several local companies and organizations are providing matches.
