Why do some small business founders succeed while others fail?
Harvard Business School professor Noam Wasserman, author of “The Founder’s Dilemmas: Anticipating and Avoiding the Pitfalls That Can Sink a Startup,” shares his wisdom on the subject in a series of videos now available through the Kauffman Founders School at www.KauffmanFoundersSchool.org.
The videos offer new content in sharing straightforward lessons on what founders can do to skirt problems that usually lead to the entrepreneurial end of the road.
The Kauffman Founders School’s “Founder’s Dilemmas” curriculum gives advice on four founder issues:
- Should I Co-Found? With Whom?: Options for going solo or founding a team
- Relationships: Reasons for and against founding with friends, family and ex-coworkers
- Equity Splits: When and how to correctly share the wealth
- Challenges on the Road to Growth: It’s difficult to be both wealthy and in charge
The “Founder’s Dilemmas” series also provides suggested readings and supporting materials , including further questions, tools and resources to help founders put into practice what they’ve been taught.
