OneKC for Women – the alliance of business-focused organizations that help local women build brighter financial futures – is getting a new partner: Kansas City Women in Technology.
“We’re thrilled at the opportunity to partner with another organization as passionate about helping women as we are. We bring technical and coding skill development to the table, but it’s only one small piece of the helping diversity in the workforce puzzle,” said Jennifer Wadella, founder of Kansas City Women in Technology.
“We’re happy to work with OneKC to help better support the Kansas City community and bring opportunities to those who need them most.”
OneKC for Women’s previous affiliates include the Women’s Employment Network, Women’s Capital Connection, Women’s Business Center and WE-Lend. OneKC’s member organizations help local women compete for jobs, start businesses and secure funding to grow those companies.
Kansas City Women in Technology encourages and supports women in technology careers. It hosts a regular series of fun events, such Coding & Cocktails and Coding & Cupcakes, that introduce girls and women who have no previous experience to coding. Other programs, such as Tech Talks, offer a mix of advice on both technology and pursuing jobs in the field.
