Less Than 1 Week Left to Apply for ScaleUP! Kansas City

For a lot of small businesses, making more than $1 million is a huge milestone – and one that can feel impossible to achieve.

Luckily, ScaleUP! Kansas City is now taking applications for its free program, which helps local companies “get over the hump” and pass the $1 million mark.

If you’re interested, though, you need to act now. The deadline for ScaleUP! Kansas City’s second class is April 19. You can apply through this website.

What Is ScaleUP! Kansas City?

It’s a program that’s overseen by the UMKC Innovation Center and the U.S. Small Business Administration. For five months, local entrepreneurs receive a range of training and coaching, including FastTrac GrowthVenture and FastTrac Listening to Your Business courses. There are peer-to-peer round tables and “collision sessions” where participants meet people who could help them scale up their companies.

Who Can Participate in ScaleUP! Kansas City?

Organizers are looking for local companies that make between $150,000 and $750,000 in annual revenue, but operate in markets that could generate more than $1 million. Each company must be at least 2 years old. About 12 to 15 companies will be selected for the upcoming ScaleUP! group.

What Happens After I Apply?

The program’s leaders will look at each application and select the most promising candidates for interviews and site visits. The second class will start meeting in June.
