Local restaurant The Mixx has just opened a third location, its first in Kansas.
The new eatery is in the Hawthorne Plaza Shopping Center at 119th and Roe in Overland Park. It includes an in-house bakery and a full-service coffee and juice bar, which are firsts for a Mixx location.
Owner Jo Marie Scaglia is developing an updated menu for the Overland Park Mixx, which also happens to be the largest of the company’s locations. Starting June 15, it’ll begin to offer a breakfast menu, another first, along with grab-and-go sandwiches. The Mixx also will start listing exact calorie counts for everything on its menu.
To celebrate the new location, The Mixx is teaming up with Shoe Kansas City for a shoe drive. The nonprofit gives new or gently used footwear to people in need. Anyone who donates a pair of shoes on June 4-6 at The Mixx will be given a coupon for a complimentary coffee beverage or breakfast sandwich.
