The deadline is May 2 for this year’s Tibbetts and Small Business Innovation Research Hall of Fame Awards, which are presented by the U.S. Small Business Administration. 

Applications and nominations can be made through this website.

There are two kinds of Tibbetts Awards, an honor named for the “father of the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program.” One is for small businesses who have received help through the SBIR or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs. The other award is for someone who hasn’t been part of the SBIR or STTR programs, but has helped promote them.

The Hall of Fame Award, meanwhile, is for past SBIR awardees who have a long and extremely successful track record in research, innovation and commercialization.

Winners will be recognized at the SBIR National Conference in June.
