Nov. 16 Deadline for Missouri TechLaunch Funding

The Missouri Technology Corporation is taking applications now through Nov. 16 for its Missouri TechLaunch funding program.

Missouri TechLaunch is for startups that are commercializing research from universities and research institutions based in the Show Me State.

Applicants can seek up to $100,000 in equity or convertible debt. The funds may be used for competitive analysis, market research, proof of concept, prototyping and more.

A full list of eligibility requirements is available at this website, but applicant companies must either be located in Missouri or relocate there.

Applicants must employ fewer than 500 employees and have raised less than $250,000 in debt or equity, not counting Missouri TechLaunch funds, SBIR or STTR awards, sponsored research or the matching funds that Missouri TechLaunch requires. (Applicants must have lined up third-party investment that’s equal to the amount requested from TechLaunch.)

Successful applicants need to have or establish a relationship with a Missouri-based research institution or university, either public or private. And they need to be focused on one of the following sectors: animal health, plant science, biomedical science, applied engineering or defense and homeland security.

Officials will judge requests for funding by several standards, including the project’s ability to create sustainable, high-paying jobs. To apply, visit this website.
