Q39 Announces Expansion, Second Location

Kansas City barbeque restaurant Q39 is both expanding its original location and adding another within the next year. The announcement comes just after the restaurant’s second anniversary.

The restaurant will be expanding its Midtown location into the space directly to the west of its current building. This will allow for the addition of a large deck, an indoor-outdoor bar and the incorporation of 48 outdoor seats and 50 indoor seats. The hope is added seating accommodations will allow for more private parties and will reduce table wait times. Construction is slated to begin in late summer and is expected to be finished by early fall.

Q39 is also making plans to open a new Overland Park restaurant in the spring of 2017. Magee wanted to add a location that was more convenient for his customers in Johnson County. The new Q39 restaurant will be at 11051 Antioch Road, in the former Hayward’s Pit BBQ space.

Although the restaurant is filling in an existing area, it won’t look like what you remember. Q39 is completely renovating the interior and exterior, as well as adding a new parking lot. The restaurant is being designed by Arizona-based Realm Architecture + Design━the same firm that designed the original location.

The Overland Park Q39 restaurant will include dining for more than 200, outdoor dining for up to 104 guests, a private dining space for up to 25, a Q2GO pickup area for takeout orders and a full-banquet kitchen that can accommodate party orders of up to 3,000.
