Rhythm Engineering Teams Up With California-Based Companies

Rhythm Engineering has embarked on a new partnership with two other companies to create a new traffic-control system that will provide better, more useful data and analytics for metro areas’ transportation officials.

Rhythm, which is based in Lenexa, is working with Civic Resource Group International, a Los Angeles- and Dublin-based company, and Urban Systems, a longtime traffic-engineering firm in southern California. Together, they call themselves the Smart City Alliance.

Their Smart City Intelligent Transit Module will be a cloud-based, secure system that allows government employees to measure and optimize traffic, while also providing information to the public via mobile apps. The companies say their system will reduce gasoline use, improve travel times and point out potential causes of car crashes.

“Our collaboration with the Alliance partners further strengthens our collective ability to reach across cities, city employees and citizens to help enhance the overall quality of urban services and the quality of urban life,” said Dane Smith, president of Civic Resource Group International.
