Rx Savings Solutions is making it easier than ever for customers to ask their doctor and pharmacist for a different prescription.
The Overland Park company created a platform that shows users lower-priced (and therapeutically equivalent) alternatives for their medications.
And with its new Contact Prescriber feature – in beta on Rx Savings Solutions’ desktop and mobile app – customers have to make only a single click to request a switch to a medicine recommended by the platform.
The goal was to remove another barrier in the user experience. With Contact Prescriber, customers don’t have to call any changes into their pharmacist or doctor’s office. Rx Savings Solutions’ platform will do it for them.
“We continually evaluate our user experience and try to remove any obstacle to saving money on prescriptions,” said Michael Rea, founder and CEO of Rx Savings Solutions.
“We understand that proactively alerting members to savings opportunities sometimes isn’t enough. We wanted a fast and convenient way to accelerate the behavioral change and help members begin saving as soon as possible.”
Contact Prescriber should be available soon as an add-on feature to the more than 1 million users of Rx Savings Solutions’ platform. Its clients include health insurers and self-funded employers, who make its service available to their members and employees.
“We’re all consumers, and we all know the more legwork required to save money, the less inclined we are to follow through,” says Shahryar Qadri, Rx Savings Solutions’ chief technology officer. “Now, not only can our solution procure the savings, it can take the next steps on behalf of our members to put money back in their pockets faster.”
