Local marketing agency Sage is now the agency of record for the Kansas City, Missouri, Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners. It’ll handle that body’s public relations, marketing and branding.
The Crossroads-based firm is owned by Leigh Ann Cleaver and Kelly Schwalbe. It used to be known as BCS Communications before a rebranding last year. Schwalbe and Cleaver’s clients include John Deere and Ceva Animal Health, among others.
“We have always been proud to be a Kansas City company and promote the community, both on and off the job,” Cleaver said.
“That’s why we are so excited to encourage both residents and visitors to discover the treasures of our local parks and museums, along with the programs and events offered in Kansas City. Our Sage team members are active KC Parks and Recreation enthusiasts and we are eager to share that passion.”
The Sage team has been in business since 2003. The agency is certified as a Women’s Business Enterprise through the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council.
“Sage brings the creativity and energy we were seeking to help us share the exciting things that are happening with KC Parks,” said Heidi Downer, manager of marketing and events for Kansas City Parks and Recreation. “We especially like their commitment as an organization to work hard and play hard. That is the attitude we want the community to embrace, and we look forward to teaming up with Sage to make that happen.”
