Snow & Co., a frozen cocktail bar in the Crossroads Arts District, has won the $40,000 grand prize in a nationwide “dream restaurant” contest sponsored by Tundra Restaurant Supply in Boulder, Colo.
Snow & Co. will use the prize package to open its planned second location this summer in Gladstone. The prize package includes Tundra restaurant design services, restaurant equipment and supplies.
Beating out hundreds of other entries, Snow & Co. got the attention of contest judges with an essay by co-owner Jerry Nevins, who provided a detailed vision of the forthcoming Northland site’s inviting interior:
“The walls will be brightly colored and reminiscent of the colors of winter jackets and clothes, with large overstuffed couches and chairs in a modular design allowing easy reconfiguration by the guests. Local art would adorn the walls and be available for purchase by guests. The centerpiece of the environment would be a bar with falling snowflakes in LED lights that accentuate the frozen cocktails spinning in their machines.”
The original Snow & Co. location opened in 2011, offering made-from-scratch frozen cocktails and sharable dishes in a relaxed, living room atmosphere.
