Touchpoint Dashboard, Code for America Present at 1 Million Cups

Touchpoint Dashboard and Code for America both gave pitches and took questions from an audience of about 200 at this week’s 1 Million Cups Kansas City event at the Kauffman Foundation.

Touchpoint Dashboard’s Bryan Surface explained his “customer experience mapping platform” that companies can use to better appreciate and improve their customers’ experiences or “journeys” with their products by synthesizing information from social media and other popular online outlets. The two-year-old, Kansas-based company offers a 15-day, full-access free trial at touchpointdashboard.com.

Ariel Kennan and Andrew Hyder of San Francisco-based nonprofit Code for America were back at 1 Million Cups for the second time since February. They discussed their new tutorial, Bizfriend.ly, which “puts the web to work for your business” by teaching easy and cost-effective digital literacy skills to the small business community, including how to create a Facebook page and how and why to use Twitter. Bizfriend.ly is also intended for civic leaders wanting to best use the web to interact with citizens and advance the quality of life in their communities. The presentation included a locally produced short video promoting Bizfriend.ly, featuring testimonials from Kansas City Mayor Sly James and Kansas City, Kan., Mayor Mark R. Holland.
