Big Data Summit KC Returns This Week

Big Data Summit KC will return this week with talks led by experts from Intel, IBM, Cisco and more, covering one of the most critical tech-related trends in business today.

Now in its second year, the conference—which will include a hackathon, a job fair and more—will run Nov. 12-14 at the Kansas City Convention Center. Organizers want to help local companies continue building up their data experts.

“This event is important to the Kansas City business community because it helps grow and develop a specific skill set that is important to the local technology market,” said Drew Solomon, event co-founder and entrepreneurship coordinator at the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City, Mo.

“The technology industry is blossoming here and will continue to grow, so we need to be prepared for an increased demand for technical workers. The Big Data Summit provides numerous professional development opportunities for data science professionals.”

John Young, vice president of development and data science at DST’s applied analytics group, will give the keynote address, “Data Science, The New Frontier.” His speech at Big Data Summit KC will highlight some of the many ways that Big Data can be used to make the average person’s life better.

About 400 people are expected to attend Big Data Summit KC. For more information about the summit, visit bigdatasummitkc.org.
