Boulevard Brewing Co. has announced plans to open a new visitor center that’s directly adjacent to the brewery campus. The main purpose of the new addition will be to host more of Boulevard’s uber-popular brewery and tasting tours.
Ranked by TripAdvisor and Huffington Post as one of the best brewery tours in the country, Boulevard hosted almost 60,000 visitors on these tours last year. While that is impressive, the brewery still had to turn thousands more away because their current space couldn’t fit them all.
Boulevard recently acquired a four-story building at 2534 Madison that will be renovated to fit the brewery’s needs. On the first floor, visitors will find exhibits about Boulevard and the beer business, along with a much larger retail shop and tasting room. The second floor will be devoted to a 10,000-square-foot beer hall featuring Boulevard’s ales and lagers, along with a little food.
Boulevard is partnering with two local companies on the project: Helix Architecture + Design and Crossland Construction.
“We’re really excited by this opportunity to reimagine and radically enhance the experience,” said Amber Ayres, Boulevard’s director of tours and recreation. “We hope it will become a destination for locals and visitors alike.”
Boulevard is shooting for a grand opening of the new visitor center for the end of June—just in time for summer.
