Its name has changed several times over the years, but Avant Acoustics in Lenexa continues to be recognized as an industry leader in architectural acoustic design.
Founded in 1964 as RC Coffeen & Associates, current owner Drew Siebert acquired Avant Acoustics from its previous majority stockholder in October 2014.
“When the company went through the rebranding effort a year ago, they did an awesome job of getting the word out about the new name,” said Siebert. “But there’s still work to be done in increasing the recognition of our new name within the industry.”
Avant Acoustics’ reputation requires no retooling. The company has expertly crafted the acoustics in a wide range of public spaces, from schools and churches to arenas and airports.
Signature projects include the company’s first assignment, half a century ago, to design an audio paging system for Washington Dulles International Airport, which remains a client to this day. Since 2009, Avant Acoustics has been the audio and acoustics consultant for the NCAA Division 1 Men’s Final Four Basketball Tournament.
What’s the secret to the company’s longevity?
“We find, groom and keep the right staff for many years,” Siebert said. “And that creates a trust relationship with clients, who then contract with us again and again.”
