Brenda Craig, founder and president of Craig Safety Technologies in Kansas City, has received the “2014 Woman of the Year in Technology” Silver Stevie Award from the international Stevie Awards for Women in Business.
The award recognizes Craig for her company’s successful use of technology and services to help businesses stay in compliance with Department of Transportation and Occupation Safety and Health Administration regulations.
Craig also received a “2014 Innovative Company of the Year” Bronze Stevie Award in the small business category and a “2014 Female Entrepreneur of the Year” Bronze Stevie Award in the business services-small business category.
All three honors were presented at the recent 11th Annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business gala in New York. The Stevie Awards for Women in Business recognize exceptional female entrepreneurs, female executives and female-owned businesses from around the world. Honorees are chosen by judges in the global business community, with nominations taken from entrants’ applications.
Craig Safety Technologies was founded by Craig in 1998. It is a nationally certified Women Business Enterprise (WBE) through the National Women Business Owners Corporation (NWBOC). The company supervises paperwork, conducts audits and provides training and tracking for workplace compliance programs.
The technology used by Craig Safety Technologies includes a proprietary cloud-based software compliance and risk management system. The company’s services cover safety analysis by way of audits and inspections, accident-incident inspections and help with citation negotiation.
